A compelling new volume from
one of Canada’s most esteemed voices in poetry, the moon with
mars in her arms is an important work delving deep into the heart
of life, death and rebirth. Starting from Jungian archetypes, Zonailo
combines the personal and the universal to evoke eternal truths of the
human condition in language both sensual and spare.
Carolyn Zonailo was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and currently
lives in Montreal. She has an M.A. in literature from Simon Fraser University
and has published many volumes of poetry. She is the founder of Caitlin
Press and also writes reviews, articles, and essays and continues to work
as an editor. A student of Jungian and archetypal psychology and a practising
astrologer, she served on the councils of the League of Canadian Poets
and the Writers’ Union of Canada. Previous books include The
Goddess in the Garden (Ekstasis), The Taste of Giving: Selected
Poems. (Caitlin Press, 1990) and Winter (Morgaine House,
1998). |
